2018 Annapolis Dispatch 4: Town Hall

Friends & Neighbors:

It was great to see so many people for our 4th Annual Town Hall this past Saturday! If you missed it, check out my Facebook page – we did a live stream of it and you can go back and watch the video anytime: District 46 residents came to learn and ask questions, and I enjoyed meeting some new constituents!

2018 Annapolis Dispatch 2: Budgets & Briefings

Friends & Neighbors:

We are off and away!  Session is already moving at a rapid rate – I had a hard time deciding what to keep in this newsletter without making it too long… hope you enjoy the highlights below! Please remember that I love hearing from you – just email me at or call 410-841-3319.

2018 Annapolis Dispatch | Back in Session

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Friends & Neighbors:

The 2018 General Assembly has begun! On Wednesday, January 10, the House and Senate convened to start the 438th legislative session. It is the final session of my first term in office, and I will continue to serve as a member of the Appropriations Committee. As I have done in the past three session, I’ll send out an email every other week with an update about what is going on in Annapolis. (more…)

Gov Hogan: Work with Baltimore to Stop the Violence

Last week alone we lost 5 people to homicides in Baltimore City, including two constituents – Dashon Griffin and Alexander Wroblewski – as well as a police officer, an 18-year veteran of the force dedicated to keeping every neighborhood in Baltimore safe for families and residents. These deaths are tragic and this violence is unacceptable. It has continued for far too long, and we are calling on our state’s executive to take actions to help curb the tide of violence that is engulfing so many neighborhoods around Baltimore. It’s easy to succumb to grief and anger in moments like these, but we refuse. (more…)

Introducing Our Daughter

Eben, Teddy, and I️ are excited to introduce you to Elizabeth Jane! The newest member of our family arrived on Nov 9 (two weeks early) and is healthy and thriving. Thank you to all my colleagues (at work, in the Legislature, and on Team46), family, and friends for their support – these past few days and in the coming months! Thanks also to the great team at Mercy Hospital – including my doctor, a D46 resident! Looking at someone so tiny reminds me of all the work we have to do to make this a better City and state (and world!) for our kids to inherit. Thank you to all of you for all you do every day to make this world a better place for our daughters and sons to grow up in.

Join Me at an Event this Fall

October is always one of the nicest months in Baltimore – and with Free Fall Baltimore in full swing, there is so much to do! I hope you’ll join me at one of my many upcoming events in District 46! You can find a variety of events taking place all around the district on theevents page of my website – and we are adding more every week!
In addition to neighborhood house parties, I’m holding four special events – Community Conversations – all around the District. These events will each feature at least two guest speakers at each event – including the Chair of the School Board, the Secretary of the Environment, the MTA Administrator, and a member of the Kirwan Commission – who will discuss issues that are relevant to our City and to answer questions from YOU directly!  See all details below or online.
